Crossing the 11:11 Threshold
I kept the portal open for you.
At 11:11 on November 11, we opened a portal.
A threshold, right there in our living room.
Ted went first.
I asked, “What are you saying yes to? What are you stepping into?”
At first, he just mumbled his intention into his soup.
I laughed. “Is that really how you want to say it?”
He said, “Well, that’s how I’m saying it now.”
I said, “Put your soup down. Stand up. Say it for real.”
He stood—and as he did, I noticed he was right at the edge of the red Iranian rug he’d inherited from his grandmother. The rug is intricate, patterned with stories we’ll never know from the ancestral line of the person or people who made it, woven by hands who carried their own meanings and prayers into the threads.
There was a border just in front of his toes.
I said, “This is your threshold.”
He straightened. His voice came stronger:
“I am stepping into musical collaboration and fun and creativity.”
When he stepped forward—crossing the border of the rug—I felt the field shift, a pulse rippled out from him.
He turned to me. “Your turn.”
I said, “Wait. Feel the energy you’ve stepped into.”
He stood taller again, eyes closed. The energy deepened. The moment hung in the air, alive. Then gradually faded like the ring of a bell.
Then it was my turn.
He asked, “What are you saying yes to?”
I said:
“I am stepping into being a powerful, visible, public healer and guide for people ready to embrace their highest vision of themselves.”
He asked, “Who do you call upon to support you in this?”
A question I hadn’t thought to ask myself.
I paused. Listened.
I called on the goddess who stands behind the oracle deck I created—
and on all those I am meant to help, guide, and support.
Then I stepped through.
Across the threshold.
Into my future.
I felt the shift in my body, behind my eyes, in my tissues. I coughed. I burped. The moment was complete.
Our friend had gone for a walk, and I had to leave for class. So I charged Ted with the task of inviting her to make her own intention and step through when she returned. We left the portal open.
Dearest, I kept this 11:11 portal open for you. Whether it is later on November 11th, in the next few days, or months from now, reach out with your intention and it is here for you.
I invite you to name your intention and step through:
How to Step Through
Find or make a threshold.
A doorway.
A stick on the floor.
Two candles you can walk between.
A line of flower petals.
Two trees.
Any portal will do.
Stand on one side of it.
Take a breath.
Think your intention—your highest or next vision for yourself. Feel it.
Stand tall. Speak your name. Speak your intention aloud.
Call upon those who you would have help you—
ancestors, Gaia, the Creator, deities, your future self, animal guides, angels.
Feel who arrives.
And when you’re ready—step across.
Feel the shift on the other side.
And don’t worry if you don’t feel anything.
That’s not your job.
Simply stay with the moment. Presence is enough.
If you’re doing this with others, even better. The witness amplifies the field.
When the last person has crossed, close the portal—
say, “This portal is now closed,”
or blow out the candles, or scatter the petals.
Whatever feels right and complete.
Then, Dearest,
take your first steps on the path toward your next—or greatest—vision of yourself.

Thank you for sharing this. It reminded me that today at 11:11 I got into my car to go to work, had the realization of the time and date, and made a wish for unexpected abundance (which is basically setting an intention) and then I drove away (kinda like crossing a threshold) 😊💚🔮🪶
